1. Scope and Coverage

  • What is not covered: Normal wear and tear, cosmetic imperfections that do not affect function (e.g., natural variations in wood colour/grain), damage from misuse, accidents, improper care or maintenance, unauthorized alterations or repairs, environmental damage (moisture, heat, UV exposure), transportation damage not reported within 7 days of delivery, and products used for commercial or rental purposes.

2. What is Covered in Detail

  • Structural integrity: Defects in joints, frames, or other structural components that impair use.
  • Finishes and surfaces: Defects in factory-applied finishes (peeling, bubbling, or significant loss of adhesion) that are not due to improper care.
  • Upholstery (where applicable): Manufacturing defects in fabric/leather and stitching that are not due to normal wear or improper care (fabric warranties from suppliers may apply additionally).
  • Hardware and mechanisms: Defects in mechanisms, springs, or connecting hardware supplied with the product.

3. What is Not Covered

  • Normal wear and tear (scratches, scuffs, minor colour changes due to sun exposure, etc.).
  • Damage from accidents, misuse, abuse, or neglect (e.g., standing on chairs, improper loading, exposure to liquids without protection).
  • Improper assembly, modification, or repair by non-authorised technicians.
  • Damage caused by improper care or cleaning (use of harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or neglect of maintenance recommendations).
  • Variations in colour, grain, or other natural characteristics of timber that occur with aged or seasonally sourced wood.
  • Items that were not purchased directly from Woods Furniture or outside the defined geographic scope of this policy.

4. How to Make a Warranty Claim

  • Documentation: Include clear photos or video showing the defect and, if possible, a short video demonstrating the issue.
  • Evaluation: Our team will review your submission and may request the item for inspection if feasible.
  • Timeframe: We aim to acknowledge claims within 2–5 business days and provide next steps within 5–10 business days after submission.

5. Remedies and What We Will Do

  • If a defect is confirmed under this warranty, Woods Furniture will, at our option:
    • Repair the defective part or component,
    • Replace the defective part or, if necessary, replace the entire item,
    • Issue a credit or refund at Woods Furniture’s discretion.
  • Shipping: For warranty repairs or replacements, Woods Furniture will cover reasonable shipping costs to and from the customer within the UK for the defective item, where feasible. If a return is required, we will provide a pre-paid shipping label or arrange an insured shipment.
  • If a product is no longer available in the same configuration, Woods Furniture may offer an equivalent alternative or credit toward a comparable item.

6. Warranty Limitations and Disclaimers

  • The warranty is the sole and exclusive remedy for defects covered by this policy.
  • This warranty does not cover incidental or consequential damages to the extent allowed by law.
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so to the extent applicable, the foregoing exclusions or limitations may not apply to you.
